Cédric Villani, member of the French Academy of Sciences
Director of the Institut Henri Poincaré (CNRS/UPMC) and professor of mathematics at the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Cédric Villani was elected member of the French Academy of Sciences on December 10, 2013.
The French Academy of Sciences brings together French and foreign scholars selected among the most prominent. Independent, it encourages scientific life and contribute to the progress of science and its applications. It now has 262 members and 132 foreign associates and 98 correspondents working in the common goal of promoting science education, impart knowledge, promote international collaboration, and to ensure the role of expertise and advice.
