The LIBM conducts research on physical activity and sport, health, performance and prevention.
Our three main objectives are to:
- Understand and model the effects of physical activity on organic functions through both theoretical and applied research in the fields of health, motor skills and motor performance.
- Investigate and prevent pathologies caused by physical activity. We aim at identifying their harmful effects and advocating best practice and caution.
- Study the potentially positive effects of physical activity on health and quality of life. We aim at studying the role of physical activity in disease prevention and therapy which may enable a patient to improve his health.
